Lord Mayors

The title of Lord Mayor is an honourific title for the chairperson of Cork City Council. There are documented records of the Mayors of Cork going back to the very start – the very first being a Richard Wine dating to 1273 under the reign of Richard I. The mayoral position subsequently became a ‘Lord Mayors’ post under a decision made by Queen Victoria.
