Cycling

Cycling is a healthy and sustainable way of travelling around the city and can often be quicker than driving a car over shorter distances in the congested inner city streets. As Cork is luckily a compact city, many local, daily journeys are easily made by bicycle.

There are also a number of scenic cycle routes in and around the city. One unofficial route starts by heading out from the city, out towards the Marina, continue on towards Blackrock Castle, then follow the walkway/path to the Rochestown Inn, continue on towards Passage West, Monkstown and then either back Rochestown via the recycling centre or keep going onto the main road and back into the city via Douglas, back into Blackrock and on towards the Marina again.

In July Cork hosts the increasingly popular Cycling Festival. Check out the festival website here: www.corkcyclingfestival.com
