Any city that has been around for over 800 years is bound to have a rich and deep heritage and Cork doesn't disappoint. Though little remains of the medieval walled city, there is a strong built heritage particularly from the 18th century and the Victorian era onwards.

The heritage that the people of Cork have inherited is primarily vested in the stories, the music and customs of the region so preserving these is essential to ensuring that long after the buildings have gone the intangibles remain.
