Parks, gardens, nature and open spaces
Cork has excellent gardens and open spaces in which to unwind and relax. Pull out the laptop in Bishop Lucey Park in the centre of the city or lie back and be lulled by the gurgling fountain in Fitzgerald’s Park, just a 12 minute walk from the bustle of St. Patrick’s Street. What about a ramble out to The Lough - an enclosed small lake in the southern suburbs which is home to an extraorinary array of birdlife. Fresh air in the city - who could ask for more!
Just a little further afield we have some of the most spectacular landscape in the world. Visit nearby Kinsale or Crosshaven or Fota Wildlife Park. A little further west and you can enjoy the rugged beauty of west Cork and the wild untamed Atlantic which pummels our shores.
